Clir Partners — Programme Terms
Welcome to Clir Partners. This programme helps independent professionals and businesses use Clir's accessibility assessment tools for client work.
These terms explain how membership, complimentary page credits and referrals work. They apply alongside Clir's general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Joining Clir Partners
Clir Partners is an application-based programme. Applicants may be freelancers, developers, accessibility professionals, agencies or other businesses offering relevant services.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Clir reviews each application individually against the programme's criteria, including the applicant's intended legitimate use of Clir, identity and security. We may approve, decline or ask for more information. Applicants must give accurate details and use an email address they control.
You do not need an accessibility certification to apply unless that is stated for a particular invitation. A decline does not mean that you are professionally unqualified.
If you think we relied on incorrect information, contact partners@clir.site and ask us to clarify or correct it. We do not promise a formal appeal process or a response time that we cannot reliably meet.
An approved applicant receives an invitation to activate their Partners access.
2. Activating your membership
Approved applicants receive a secure invitation link, normally valid for seven days.
To activate the introductory allowance, you must verify your access and accept these Programme Terms. Accepting the terms activates your introductory credits.
If your invitation expires before activation, sign in with your email address and we will send you a new link. Approval does not guarantee that an unactivated offer stays available indefinitely.
3. Your introductory allowance
Each approved partner who activates the programme receives a one-time allowance of 500 complimentary assessment-page credits, unless the invitation you accepted states a different allowance before you accept.
- One credit covers one page assessed in an eligible client project.
- Each project may contain up to 50 pages.
- Credits are consumed when a project starts successfully.
- If Clir could not assess some pages of a project, the credits for those pages are restored. A project you cancel before its assessment begins releases its credits. Credits for pages already assessed are not returned, including when you finish or archive a project.
- Rechecks are included within the relevant project's 90-day service window, subject to its applicable limits.
- Introductory credits expire six months after activation.
Credits are for Clir services only. They are not money, cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash, and cannot be sold or transferred. Unused credits do not create a right to a cash refund or compensation. A refund of a separately paid subscription does not turn credits into cash.
The allowance is issued once, and only after you have accepted the current terms. Accepting the terms and issuing the credits happen as one step: if activation fails, nothing is taken and nothing is held back, and you can try again. We may correct duplicated or wrongly issued credits. If a correction materially changes your balance we will tell you, and you can query it at partners@clir.site.
4. Working with your clients
Partners operate independently. You may use eligible Clir assessments and reports when providing services to your own clients.
You decide what services to offer and what to charge. Your clients pay you directly under your own arrangements. Clir does not collect payment on your behalf, employ you, guarantee clients, promise earnings or supervise your client relationships.
You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission to assess client websites and for explaining the scope of your services accurately.
5. Assessment results
Clir provides automated accessibility assessments, findings, remediation information and available rechecks. Automated assessments are not a complete manual accessibility audit, a certification of compliance or a legal guarantee.
You must not misrepresent Clir reports, alter findings deceptively or claim that automated results establish full website accessibility.
Reports and Closeouts must state the assessed scope, date, method, evidence and limitations accurately. A white-labelled output may carry your or your client's branding without displaying Clir's commercial name, but it must not state or imply that a manual audit was performed, that you personally performed tests you did not perform, or that the result certifies compliance. Clir keeps the technical record of each assessment and gives its owner access to that record on request.
6. Agency workspace and paid plans
Approved partners access their projects through Clir's Agency workspace. You may buy an Agency Pass if you want to continue using Clir beyond your complimentary allowance.
When you start a project, your Agency Pass capacity pays for it if that capacity can take the whole project; otherwise credits pay for it if they cover the whole project. A project is never paid for from both. The workspace shows your plan capacity and credit balance before you start.
An introductory allowance does not start a paid subscription, and no payment card is needed to accept it.
7. Referral rewards
Eligible partners may receive additional assessment-page credits when a new customer purchases through an eligible referral.
The qualifying purchases, credit amounts, release period, annual cap, expiry and restrictions are set out in the Clir Credits & Referrals Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Referral credits are not cash commissions. Where it matters to your audience, tell them clearly when you may receive credits from a recommendation or referral.
8. Responsible use and public claims
You must not:
- create fake accounts or purchases to obtain credits;
- refer yourself or arrange artificial purchases to generate rewards;
- sell, transfer or exchange credits for money;
- use Clir to scan websites without appropriate authorisation;
- abuse the service, evade usage limits or interfere with Clir's systems; or
- mislead clients about what Clir's automated assessments establish.
Ordinary legitimate client work, including charging clients for professional services supported by Clir reports, is permitted.
You may use an eligible Clir report with your clients, subject to the client's permission and the report's factual integrity. You must not suggest that Clir employs, accredits, endorses or supervises you. We will not use your name, your clients' names or your portfolio as testimonials without suitable permission.
You are responsible for making sure that anything you upload for branding or assessment is authorised for use. Information you supply must be accurate and must not alter Clir's technical measurements. Distinguish the services you performed yourself, such as manual testing or remediation, from automated assessments performed by Clir software. You may describe the automated method truthfully without placing Clir's logo on every client document.
9. Suspension and termination
Clir may suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, unauthorised use, security threats or serious breaches of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain and give you a chance to resolve the issue.
Clir may end your participation for material breaches or where necessary to comply with legal obligations. Ending participation does not alter completed customer purchases, payment rights or other protections that apply under law.
10. Changes to the programme
Clir may improve or discontinue the programme for future applicants. Material changes that affect existing participants will be communicated in advance where practicable and required.
Clir will not arbitrarily cancel legitimately earned, unexpired credits solely because it has changed its marketing offer.
11. Independence
Clir Partners is non-exclusive. Subject to ordinary confidentiality, security and intellectual-property obligations, taking part does not stop you using other software or providing accessibility services independently. Clir does not direct your working hours, pricing, client selection or methods beyond the reasonable technical and programme rules for using Clir.
12. Privacy
We use application, account and referral information to operate the programme, verify eligibility, manage credits, prevent abuse and communicate with participants.
Further information is available in Clir's Privacy Policy.
